Using a dense seismic array to study fluvial processes in a braided river reach under flood conditions

چکیده
Dense seismic array monitoring has recently allowed the detailed investigation of sources ground vibrations and their spatiotemporal dynamics. In a context where traditional techniques for fluvial processes often do not provide data with adequate temporal spatial resolution, use dense arrays could allow identification tracking different river-induced (e.g. turbulence bedload transport). Here, we study potential by investigating high-flow event that occurred in summer 2019 along 600-m-long braided reach Séveraisse River (French Alps). We network 80 seismometers deployed on both river banks, supplement observations flow gauging measurements time-lapse imagery. During this event, observe impulsive signals are coherently detected over array, which interpret as being associated transport clusters coarse grains (blocks). Through phase-delay analysis able to locate these events bend apex an active branch reach. These results demonstrate capability such method activity at high providing crucial information geomorphological investigations natural risk management.

Fluvial processes and facies sequences in the sandy braided South Saskatchewan River, Canada
The South Saskatchewan River has a long term average discharge of 275 m3/sec, with flood peaks in the range of IS00 to 3800 nP/sec. South of Saskatoon, the four major types of geomorphological elements recognised are channels, slipfacebounded bars, sand flats and vegefated islands and floodplains. Major channels are 3-5 m deep, up to 200 m wide, and flow around sand flats which are 50-2000 m lo...

متن کاملa frame semantic approach to the study of translating cultural scripts in salingers franny and zooey
the frame semantic theory is a nascent approach in the area of translation studies which goes beyond the linguistic barriers and helps us to incorporate cognitive and cultural factors to the study of translation. based on rojos analytical model (2002b), which centered in the frames or knowledge structures activated in the text, the present research explores the various translation problems that...

The changes in diatom assemblages along an urban-to-rural gradient were characterized to assess the ecological status of the Sai Gon River, Vietnam. Diatoms and physico-chemical variables were measured at 10 stations during dry and rainy season. One-way ANOVA showed that diatom metrics and physicochemical variables were significantly different (p < 0.05) between the upper course sites and both ...
